This webinar will provide information sources to help the CCA find and discuss the most common forms of N, P, and K in their state. Principles and practical examples will be provided to assist the CCA in determining the right source of N and discussing the considerations used to determine the right source of P and K based on soil and climate conditions, crop selection, growth stage, cropping systems, environmental concerns, and/or soil or tissues tests.

Dr. Rob Mikkelsen

International Plant Nutrition Institute
Dr. Rob Mikkelsen is a Director and Vice President with the International Plant Nutrition Institute. He was previously Professor of Soil Science at North Carolina State University and a Soil Chemist at the National Fertilizer Development Center at Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Rob has authored or co-authored numerous publications and chapters related to nutrient management, specializing in behavior of various plant nutrient sources.
A native of California, Dr. Mikkelsen earned his B.S. degree in Agronomy/Soils at Brigham Young University in 1981, then received his Ph.D. in Soil Science at University of California, Riverside, in 1985.
Dr. Mikkelsen is a Fellow of ASA and SSSA. He received the ASA Agronomic Industry Award and the SSSA Industry and Professional Leadership Award.
He is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Certified Professional Horticulturist. He regularly leads in training for nutrient management for these groups.
