The United Soybean Board (USB) supported the development of this American Society of Agronomy webinar series and the Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Sustainability Specialty certification (SSp).
Industry professionals will discuss the drivers for sustainability in the value chain, the need for accountability in the value chain, and how that affects all components from producer to the consumer. Discussions will include ways to add value at the lower levels of the value chain.

Jed is a Professor in the Department of Horticulture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Co-Director of the Environmental Resources Center and Integrated Pest Management programs. His research and outreach work is centered at the crossroads of productive agricultural systems and natural resource management. In this role, he provides leadership for over 50 staff on multiple UW System campuses and in county offices. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Cornell University and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to returning to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he was a faculty member at Oregon State University.

Randy has been the Great Lakes Agriculture Strategy Manager since joining The Nature Conservancy in 2013. At TNC, he works to scale-up conservation programs through the development of innovative finance mechanisms, and works with partners to test new conservation practices and delivery approaches. Prior to joining TNC, Randy worked for Ducks Unlimited for seven years at their offices in Bismarck, North Dakota and Memphis, Tennessee. At Ducks Unlimited, Randy primarily implemented environmental market opportunities for grassland conservation. Randy earned a B.A. in economics from Michigan State University and a M.S. in agricultural and resource economics from Oregon State University.

In this role, he supports USB in developing industry and value chain partnerships, setting research priorities, communicating the sustainability performance of U.S. soybeans, and strategic planning/issues management.
